Division Modes in Math Cards
Math Cards offers three division practice modes, progressing from fact fluency to multi-step long division:
Division Facts
A dividend is shown on a card. Divide by your chosen divisor (2 through 12, or ALL) and enter the quotient. Fast-paced and focused on recall speed.
2-Digit Long Division
Two-digit dividends with a guided bracket layout. Kids work through each step using the scratch pad โ divide, multiply, subtract, bring down.
3-Digit Long Division
Three-digit dividends with hundreds, tens, and ones columns. Full step-by-step guidance in the scratch pad.
How the Game Works
Select a divisor (or ALL for mixed practice). A problem appears on a playing card. Enter your answer. A correct answer brings the next problem immediately โ a wrong answer ends the run and saves your score.
The game ends on the first mistake, which creates real incentive to slow down and think before entering an answer.
Building from Facts to Long Division
The recommended progression is:
- Start with Division Facts to build automatic recall for a specific divisor
- Move to 2-Digit Long Division once facts are solid
- Advance to 3-Digit Long Division for full procedural fluency
Each level has its own high score, so kids always have a target to beat.
