The Steps Behind Every Problem
Each adding fractions problem follows the same procedure kids learn in school:
Difficulty Levels
Related denominators
One denominator is a multiple of the other. E.g. 1/2 + 1/4.
Unrelated denominators
Both denominators must be converted. E.g. 1/3 + 1/4.
Larger values
Bigger numerators and denominators requiring more complex LCM finding.
Why This Skill Is Hard
Adding fractions with unlike denominators is one of the most commonly failed topics in elementary math because it requires three sub-skills at once: finding LCM, converting fractions, and simplifying results. Math Cards isolates this skill so kids can build the procedure through focused repetition — not a mixed worksheet where fraction problems are buried among other topics.
